ABOUT THE PHYSICIANS

Dr. Nic Dodson D.P.M. and Dr. Erin Dodson D.P.M., both graduates of Lowndes High School and Valdosta State University, completed their medical training at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. After completing four years of medical school and three years of reconstructive foot and ankle surgical training, Dr. Nic and Dr. Erin decided to return to their hometown to set up practice and serve their community.
Having both played high school and college sports, both physicians are interested in trauma and sports/athletic related injuries. Other areas of specialty include diabetic foot care, infection management, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, pediatric and adult flatfoot management and surgery, as well as basic foot and ankle conditions such as heel pain, ingrown toenails, and foot/ankle arthritis.
Dr. Erin and Dr. Nic graduated numbers 1 and 2, respectively, in their medical school class. Both physicians are involved in academic medicine and have published several scientific papers and are involved in academic research. Speaking and lecturing about foot and ankle related disorders to both other clinicians and the general public are also a vital part of the practice as well as something that both physicians enjoy.
Dr. Erin and Dr. Nic attend Morningside Baptist Church in Valdosta. "Our faith in Jesus Christ is what sustains us, gives us hope, and drives us to serve others through our profession. Without Christ, we would have nothing...we would be nothing," says Dr. Erin. Dr. Nic enjoys speaking to local churches and youth groups frequently.
